1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Cortex ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your Data

You retain full ownership of all content you create within Cortex. We do not sell, share, or use your personal thoughts or journal entries for any purpose other than providing the Service. Cognitive analysis computations run locally in your browser and do not transmit content to external servers.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms.

4. Payments & Subscriptions

Pro and Team subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via PayPal. All payments are processed server-side through our secure Cloud Functions. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is." AssetShop LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

6. Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect your email address and authentication credentials for account management. We store the journal entries and mind maps you explicitly save to the cloud. We do not collect your cognitive analysis results — these are computed locally and never transmitted.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the Cortex service. We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not use your thought content to train AI models.

3. Data Storage

Saved entries are stored in Firebase Firestore under your unique user ID. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit. You can export or delete your data at any time from the Metrics section.

4. Cookies

We use minimal session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Contact privacy@assetshop.io to exercise these rights.
